Five (5) BOSS Actions That Promote Consistent Success
Everyone desires some level of success. The beauty of success is that it shows up differently for each person.
Even if you've accomplished great things, I'm sure there's something you're working towards. Maybe You're finishing another book, giving away more to charity, or cooking dinner on time. Success has many faces.
With a few simple tweaks, you can see greater levels of success jumping off in your life more consistently.
The actions suggested are simple in nature, although, you will need to make the decision to be intentional and committed to the process for the long run to secure positive results. The goal is to make these actions habitual and a part of your lifestyle.
Here are the five (5) actions that promote success:
1. Create written goals and review them daily.
Your brain is like a supercomputer that loves to find solutions when you need something.
When you create goals, which are your dreams and desires written out with deadlines, your brain begins to help you identify ways to fulfill your goals. You give your mind something to focus on and prioritize.
The way to do this is to have a dedicated notebook/journal to write your goals in detail and include a deadline. You will then take each goal and list what you need to achieve the goals. These will become your new micro goals. As you complete each micro goal, the big goal will be achieved.
Each day, you should rewrite your goals and read them out loud. Here comes the magic that's not really magic, you must take steps of action towards achieving the goals. Remember, the Bible declares that faith without works is dead! You have to put in the work to accomplish your desired result. You can read and write all day long, yet if you don't take intentional action you will end each day with nothing.
2. Spend time with successful individuals.
You'll usually achieve more when you have people around you achieving more in their lives. It's said that you're the sum total of the five people you spend the majority of your time with.
Examine your life and see if those closest to you are where you're working to go or are on their own journey towards greater things. If they aren't, no problem. You don't need to ditch your family and friends, but what you might consider doing is gaining some more.
I spend a large portion of my day with my fabulous virtual family and friends via YouTube. I listen to all types of motivation, inspiration, and education from people I might never meet and some I definitely will never meet, as they are deceased, yet their wisdom and knowledge live on. Intentionally expose yourself to different types of people and different ways of thinking and doing. Check out my virtual uncles Jim Rohn, Myron Golden, Bob Proctor, and Myles Monroe. My virtual aunties are great also; Terry Savelle Foy and Sonya Stribling.
3. Check your attitude.
A negative attitude will only bring you negative returns.
Successful people choose to create a positive mindset and an attitude of gratitude. What you focus on expands. As you spend more time building up positivity and gratitude, more positivity and things to be grateful for will show up.
If you desire to be healthy, are thinking and expressing positive behavior toward good health? If you desire to be wealthy, do you think and speak positively about your current financial situation and express gratitude for what you have? Do you have a positive attitude about wealth and wealthy people?
Your attitude must match your desired results.
I know it can get rough, yet seek to limit discouragement during the hard times. Allow difficult seasons to show you the path toward increasing your trust in God and relying on who He is and what His word says to get you through. Celebrate something, no matter what. Even in the worst times, if you look for it, there is always something positive to focus on.
Just like in the natural with winter, spring, summer, and fall, your life has seasons also, so be encouraged that difficult times won't last always.
4. Be organized and focused.
Clutter and disorder in your life are chaos for the mind and vice versa.
If you really desire to be successful in whatever that means for you, you must live an organized and intentional life. A good way to get organized is each night before you go to bed, make a list of all the things you want to accomplish the next day. Doing this at night allows your brain to process things while you're sleeping. You'll have a jump start to the day with a clear objective instead of wasting time trying to figure out what you need to do.
Also, ensure that you're setting your schedule to do the most needle-moving and complex tasks done during the hours of the day when you're most alert, focused, and productive. Save the tinkering, low mind, low energy task for your non-peak performance hours.
Review your list at the top of the more and then get going. Remember, your nightly list should include writing and reading your goals out loud!
5. Pray, praise, and get 'er done!
This right here is the secret sauce to achieving your desired success. It doesn't get any better than taking time each day to read, study, and pray the Word of God back to God and to declare what you desire.
When you delight in God, He will give you your desire, so make sure that this is everywhere in your day. God loves you and wants nothing but the best for you, and He wants to help you, so don't limit yourself or Him.
Express gratitude each day and as you write and read your goals give God praise for giving you wisdom in what to do and for helping you achieve your goal. Once you've done all of that, it's time to put in the necessary work to get what you're after.
Again, faith without works is dead (James 2:20). You show you have faith by working towards what you desire.
These five (5) actions can bring you the great success you desire if you use them to your advantage. Fundamentally, there is no difference between what it takes to be successful or unsuccessful. Proper action leads to your desired success, inaction leads to failure.
Either option requires specific actions and attitudes applied consistently over time. The behavior you choose will determine your outcome. Choose wisely!
